After immigrating to Australia in 2002 Cara used her experience from both an Australian perspective and an international point of view to assess the viability of imported products to be sold into the Australian market. This helped overseas businesses work out, which products would be profitable to export into Australia, as well as who the main target market would be and how the products should be marketed. She then went on to fulfil the marketing role within a Brisbane based firm where she worked on marketing projects and campaigns with companies such as IBM.

After visiting countries such as China she confirmed the opportunities available to Australian businesses, however believed that these opportunities were not without a great deal of risk, unless the person importing had someone local on the ground to oversee and micro manage the detail of each project.

It was also imperative to have comprehensive systems and procedures in place to ensure that all aspects were dealt with accordingly, ensuring a good quality product resulted for the client.

After strategically aligning herself with selected partners from around the world, she formed the company Global Sourcing Services in 2007 and set about helping Australian businesses benefit from importing directly from overseas factories.

Cara now manages Global Sourcing Services, and thoroughly enjoys working both locally and internationally with many different cultures.
